Job Title: Middle School Boys Track Coach
Location: Southern Middle School, Person County Schools, North Carolina
Reports To: Athletic Director and Principal
Job Summary
The Middle School Boys Track Coach is responsible for developing and leading the boys' track program in accordance with the school's athletic policies and procedures. The coach will create a positive and inclusive environment, ensuring student-athletes develop skills, sportsmanship, teamwork, and a love for the sport while meeting academic and behavioral expectations. The position includes an athletic stipend.
Duties and Responsibilities

Program Development:
- Plan, organize, and lead daily practices, meets, and training sessions.
- Develop and implement training programs that cater to student-athletes of varying skill levels.
- Foster a team culture that promotes discipline, respect, and personal development.

Supervision and Safety:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes during practices, meets, and travel.
- Monitor proper use and maintenance of equipment and facilities.

Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and eligibility of student-athletes.
- Communicate regularly with parents, school administration, and Athletic Director regarding schedules, updates, and expectations.

Compliance:
- Adhere to school district, state, and conference rules and regulations.
- Uphold all academic eligibility standards for participation in athletics.

Team Representation:
- Represent the school positively in all meets and competitions.
- Model sportsmanship and ethical behavior for students and the school community.

Other Duties:
- Participate in pre-season and post-season evaluations and meetings.
- Collaborate with other school coaches to foster an overall athletic program.
Qualifications
- Experience in track and field (coaching and/or participation preferred).
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work with middle school students and inspire them to achieve their potential.
- Knowledge of fundamental techniques and strategies for track and field events.
- Commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
Stipend
This position includes an athletic stipend as determined by the district's stipend schedule.
